And the Winner Is. . .

A blue-dog Democrat, an upstater only by ambitious design. But she's blonde and female, and I guess that was the demographic we were looking for as a replacement for HRC.

Although governors have the power to replace Senators, they do not have that same power for Representatives. As far as I can determine, the only way to replace Gillibrand is via a special election.

Stoat says: she is an upstate woman. But she is also a lackluster, middle of the road, inexperienced dweebette who will have a tough time getting re-elected (since no one has heard of her), and her congressional seat (ours) will very likely revert to a Republican. Not pleasing.

Upstate woman, my ass. Born there, lives there now, but spent most of her working life in Manhattan and DC.

Maybe you'll get that hideous GE woman who ran against her the last time out.
