I can't help feeling that this is one of the most important stories of the day. Giant corporations may replace political envoys as the arbiters of international diplomacy; they have the leverage to make change happen. Or do they? Stay tuned. . .
Actually this stuff happens constantly. Just in the other direction. Think of Shell and Nigeria, etc. In most cases, democracy is not often served by giant corporations -- with Google, it's possibly happened. Don't be holding your breath for it to happen again any time soon. At least in a positive direction.
