What, Me Worry?

$3 billion a minute? Pretty soon, you'll be talking about real money.
Bush: Flaccid
Paulson: Inept
Pelosi: Stupid
Congress: Catatonic
Wall Street: Avaricious
Me: Lalalalala (fingers in ears)

LATER: Fallout. It's a bad time to run a newspaper anyway. I have a theory that within five years, the Ithaca Journal will be a USA Today-like "Gannett" paper with a single Ithaca page.

You think it's tough to run a newspaper? Imagine working for an NGO, entirely dependent on the largesse of others.

It's not about being tough. It's about providing a commodity that no one is willing to pay for. But yes, working for an NGO is not good nowadays. All the jobs I'm looking at involve soft money or grant writing. Not good.

Paulson: Creepy. Or corrupt. Inept makes it sound like he's clumsy. He ain't clumsy, he's the cobra. We're the mice.

But then it won't spell FISCAL. And I'm not sure he's corrupt; he is certainly politically inept.
