Check your online owl calls (there are a million links these days). I'm betting you are actually hearing a barred owl, not a great horned.
Nope. We have at least one great horned who usually resides across the street. He's pretty distinctive.
I saw this guy yesterday as I walked down the driveway. And we've heard a lot from this guy at night.
